Five Years On
Workmanship.
Plain-language warranty terms. We honor them — we'd rather come back at our cost than dispute the boundary.
What's Covered
VoltSync warrants all electrical work performed by our crews — labor, materials, and resulting finish work directly attributable to the install — for five (5) years from the date of substantial completion. This includes panels, breakers, branch wiring, fixtures and devices we supplied, EV chargers, and lighting-control programming.
What This Means In Practice
If something we installed fails within five years and the failure isn't due to a covered exclusion (below), we'll make it right — replace the part, redo the work, repair any incidental damage to drywall or trim caused by accessing the affected location. No deductible, no service-trip charge, no parts markup.
Manufacturer Warranties
Most equipment we install carries its own manufacturer warranty: panels and breakers generally 10 years, EV chargers 3 years, lighting fixtures 1–5 years depending on brand, Lutron components 8 years. These run concurrently with our workmanship warranty. If a manufacturer warranty is shorter than ours, our coverage continues until five years from install.
Exclusions
- Damage from rodents, insects, or pets (we will repair at our hourly rate plus parts)
- Damage from floods, hurricanes, lightning strikes, or named storms
- Modifications to our work by another contractor or by the homeowner
- Failures caused by load exceeding the documented design parameters of the install
- Wear-and-tear items: bulbs, batteries, plug-in surge strips
- Cosmetic discoloration of plates or covers
Transferability
The workmanship warranty transfers to a new property owner at no charge for the remainder of the original five-year term. The new owner should email studio@voltsync.work with the deed information and the original work address. We'll update the file and confirm coverage in writing within five business days.
How To Make A Claim
Call dispatch or email the studio with the work address and a brief description. We'll schedule a visit. For active emergencies — sparking, burning smell — call the 24/7 line regardless of whether you think it's covered. We'll sort the paperwork later.
Recall Service
If a panel, breaker, or device we installed is later subject to a manufacturer recall during the warranty period, we will perform the recall replacement at no charge — even if the manufacturer doesn't cover the labor.
Limitation
Our liability is limited to the cost of the work performed under the original contract. We are not responsible for consequential damages — spoiled food, business interruption, hotel stays — though we carry insurance that covers most such claims separately. The warranty is governed by Texas law and any dispute is venued in Travis County.
