Engagement

How is Aegis different from conventional pest control?
We're entomologist-led, monitoring-first, and chemistry-by-exception. Most conventional pest control runs monthly visits with routine pesticide application; we run quarterly visits with documented monitoring and intervention only at confirmed pressure.
How much does the program cost?
Residential quarterly Sentinel is $185 per visit. Heritage annual is $2,400. Commercial monthly Continuous starts at $480. The survey to scope your specific property is $185, credited toward the program if you sign within 60 days.
How long is the contract?
Annual commitment, billed quarterly or monthly. Cancellation requires 30 days written notice; we refund unearned portion pro rata.
Will the same technician come every visit?
Yes. Continuity is part of the value — a tech who has walked your property four times sees what's new. We assign a primary and a backup.

Chemistry & methodology

Do you use pesticides?
Yes, but as targeted intervention against confirmed activity in identified harborage — not as routine application. See the How-we-work section on the About page for the full explanation.
Is your approach safe for pets and children?
Yes — and that's a primary reason clients choose us. When chemistry is applied, it's targeted, in identified harborage, with the lowest-toxicity product that resolves the issue. Re-entry intervals are observed and posted.
Can I do this myself?
For light pressure: often, yes. Sticky traps from the hardware store will tell you what you have. Sanitation and exclusion cover most issues. We're most useful when you have a structural concern (termites, powderpost), a hospitality compliance need, or a heritage property.

Real estate & specific situations

Do you do termite letters for real estate?
Yes — WDIR (Wood Destroying Insect Report) for closing transactions. $295, same-day available with notice. Includes photographs and treatment recommendations if active termites are found.
I just moved in and the previous owner's pest contract is expired. What now?
Request a property survey. We'll honor any existing Sentricon network as part of the scope and assess whether to continue or migrate. No pressure either way.
We're listing the house. Will treatment now help?
Sometimes. If you have an existing concern, addressing it before listing avoids buyer renegotiation. If you don't have a concern, prophylactic spraying is unlikely to add value and may be a buyer red flag if it's visible.

Heritage & institutional

How do you work with our museum's conservator?
Our reports follow the format used by Historic Savannah Foundation and GA Trust files. We attend property review meetings on request. When the conservator's protocol governs, we step aside.
Will treatment affect collection objects?
Our heritage protocols are designed not to. Thermal and pheromone tools have no residue. When chemistry is unavoidable, we coordinate with the conservator on object protection and re-entry.
