See it. Smell it.
Get rid of it.
If you're staring at a black patch behind the washer or smelling something musty in the basement, you're not alone — Charlotte's humidity loves mold. We make it go away properly, the first time.
Four steps. One clean room.
Mold isn't something you wipe off with bleach and forget. It needs containment, source removal, and an air test to prove it's actually gone.
Test & inspect
We scan with thermal cameras to find moisture, take air samples, and pull tape lifts where there's visible growth. Then we tell you exactly what you're dealing with.
Seal & contain
Plastic sheeting, negative-air machines, HEPA scrubbers running the whole time. Spores don't travel into the rest of your house.
Remove at the source
Affected drywall, insulation, or wood comes out and goes in sealed bags. We don't paint over it — that doesn't fix anything.
Verify with a test
Final air sample compared to your baseline. If scope requires it, we use a third-party industrial hygienist so the clearance is independent.
Where we find mold almost every week.
Bathrooms
Behind tile, under vinyl floors, in the ceiling above the shower. Usually from slow leaks at the wax ring or grout failure.
Basements & crawlspaces
Where Charlotte's red-clay humidity meets cool concrete. The classic musty smell almost always traces here.
Attics
Roof leaks, blocked soffit vents, exhaust fans dumping into the attic instead of outside. Usually visible on rafters.
Behind kitchens
Dishwasher lines, fridge water lines, and silent under-sink drips. Often discovered during a remodel.
Laundry rooms
Washer supply lines, dryer-vent moisture, condensation on cold-water pipes. Small leaks that grow over years.
Windows & sills
Condensation on single-pane windows in older Charlotte homes. Usually surface-only but worth checking the framing.
What people usually ask us about mold.
Can't I just spray bleach on it?
For a small patch on a hard, non-porous surface (tile, glass) — yes, soap and water works fine. For anything on drywall, wood, or insulation, bleach makes it look gone while the roots stay alive. Within weeks, it's back.
Will my insurance pay for mold removal?
It depends on the cause. If the mold grew because of a "sudden and accidental" water event (burst pipe, appliance failure), it's usually covered. Long-term slow leaks or maintenance issues usually aren't. We'll help you understand which bucket you're in.
Is mold making my family sick?
It can. People with allergies, asthma, or compromised immunity react first — coughing, headaches, eye irritation. If anyone's feeling worse at home and better when they leave, get it checked.
How long does a typical job take?
Small bathroom: 1–2 days. Whole basement: 5–10 days including drying and clearance testing. We'll give you a real estimate after we see it.
Do I have to move out?
Almost never. With proper containment and negative air, we work in the affected area only. We'll be honest if your case is the exception.
